Sometimes called Samson's stone it was thrown here by St. Samson from the top of Margam hill and like Maen Llia goes for a walk before the cock crows to drink from the the local river, in this case Afon Cynffig. Today it does not have far to go as there is the Nunydd reservoir for the steel works at Margam just across the M4.
