This 11ft high stone has been inscribed with latin text along one edge. With a Roman camp nearby it is no surprise that Wynford Vaughan Thomas called it a Roman milestone in his 'Wales, a History' in 1985. In 1940 it was moved by the Ministry of Works a short distance to it's present location.
