Maen Bradwen or known locally as Carreg Bica (pointed stone) is a monolith 13ft (4.3m) high of local sandstone.
At 253m above sea level on Mynydd Drumau it stands high above the town of Neath commanding views over the South Wales coast.
From here barrow burial mounds can be seen on the mountain to the east across the Neath valley.
Maen Bradwen is said to bathe in the river once a year on Easter morning. This being a fairly common legend associated with several other standing stones in Wales including Maen Llia.
