Three stones, 3, 4 and 5 metres high situated in a sloping field at the south of the village of Trellech. The name can be translated as the settlement of the stones. In the local parish church is the earliest record of the stones, a sundial with a carved representation dated to around 1689. The erection was probably undertaken during the Bronze age but local tales tell of a character called Jack o' Kent who competed with the Devil and hurled three stones from the summit of the Holy Mountain, about 12 miles away. The name Harold probably relates to the Saxon King who is said to have won a battle in the area. They form an alignment about 12 metres long pointing towards the midwinter sunset with three cup marks visible on the western face of the centre stone.
