The Avebury Henge and Stone Circle was approached by two avenues of around 200 stones now just remnants of the West Kennet avenue remain. Enclosed within the henge there are several stone settings. The large Outer Circle originally comprised of 95-100 stones and is the largest stone circle in Britain. Inside are two smaller circles, the Northern and Southern Inner Circles both of which are around 100 metres in diameter and have 20 -30 stones and towards the centre once stood a stone called the Obelisk which about 6 metres high. The Northern Inner circle contains another setting of stones called The Cove of which only two remain .
